Finally this dev put sex scene in a adult visual novel, the last 2 updates have almost the double of sex content of others 7 chapter of history and almost nothing. I initially have disappointed because I love freloading family and in FF have a bunch of SEXUAL content. FOF I like but is realy hard to no skipped the content. But at least in the last updated got corrected. I like this avn the design, song, vanilla harem story with good models. I love the Blonde thick milf landlady I hope that Mc fuck her and not only in kiss and friendzone and I hate his daughter daddy issues dumb slut.

Far-off Friends v9 has finally been released!

After some delay, here's the newest version of Far-Off Friends. Thanks for your patience. It's the first part of chapter 9, but worry not, since it still has the size of a normal update. The writing for the next part is already well on its way, so hopefully things will progress smoothly. The reasons for the delay are many, but the main one is that someone really close to the writer has passed away. Understandably they needed some time off. But everything should continue as normal now. Together with this update, one wallpaper was made with the all the characters, I hope you'll enjoy. The 2K version is up to everyone, while the 4K version is exclusive to the patrons, the only difference between them is the resolution. 

Also, due to some miscommunication, you'll probably see that some textures from the end of the update mismatch the rest of it. It's nothing big or immersion breaking and it will be fixed in the future update, since right now, we're focused on delivered the game itself. As always, we're always open for bug reports, errors and suggestions. With all that said, please enjoy the update.

I have thoughts about this game. There are nice visuals, models and scenes, but there is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much dialogue, thoughts and pauses with no purpose other than making the game feel longer. Having to read 400 lines between each choice / decision is a sure-fire way to make me not care at all about the plot. At the beginning I was interested, and then every single interaction with each character became endless and pointless?. Still, it's good overall and it's free, but I just can't help to feel like it could be much more better if the writing was a *lot* more economical.

The previous Itch.io version is currently free.

Now, some transparency—because it's important.

Last September, just two days before the release of FoF v7, our Patreon account was banned.

The reasons were trivial, but what matters is that we managed to get it back around mid-January. Thank God for that.

The delay wasn’t caused solely by this, but it had a significant impact overall. Without Patreon, we had to prioritize other things in real life over the game. It sucks, but that’s how life goes.

Things got even worse when our SubscribeStar was also banned, but fortunately, we managed to recover both accounts around the same time.

At least we had Itch.io to keep things afloat until we landed back on our feet.

Now, for the actual content of the update:

As you guys know, this second part of the update is longer than that of a regular update.

For this release, we decided to animate most—if not all—of the sex scenes. It was a lot of work and took much more time than expected, but we’re happy with the results.

Turns out animations are really fun to make—but not so fun to render.

Some other content has also been updated:

The Prologue and Chapter 1 were revised. Early mistakes were fixed, and some details were adjusted.

I also removed some references to other games, especially those from Waifu Academy, as they lost their relevance after Chapter 1.

Redundant phrases, awkward sentences, and poorly constructed dialogue have been refined, and we’ll continue improving things over time.

I rewrote parts of the main storyline, slightly tweaking some character personalities. The most significant change was to Mariya—not a major overhaul, just enough to make her feel like an actual character rather than an Asian stereotype.

The other five main characters—Melissa, Stacy, Erika, Tiffany, and Sarah—remain largely unchanged.

About the soundtrack:

After some discussions, we decided to remove certain songs. While all the music in the game is either copyright-free or karaoke versions (I'm looking at you, Space Oddity), some companies don’t want their music associated with adult games. With that in mind, we’ve dropped those tracks for now and are looking for a long-term solution.

No, AI-generated music is not on the table.

For now, we have three original tracks by Skye Jordan, but we’ll see what we can do going forward.

As for sound effects, we’re keeping them, but we’ll be more selective.

And yes, as much as I love the orgasm sounds from The Visit by Stiglet (anyone who played that game knows how cringe they are, which is exactly why they became fantastic later on), I understand they’re not for everyone.

So, we’ll be following a specific approach for sound selection. Apologies for any inconvenience.

After this update, we aim to return to our regular development cycle of around two months.
